Key Points from the Hot Griddle

• UNLV student often found on campus was fortuitously absent during a lethal incident.
• The fellow’s life was saved thanks to a Burger King tradition.
• On Wednesdays, the student and his friends have a ritual called “Whopper Wednesday.”
• He claims that this fast-food tradition saved him from being a part of the tragic on-campus occurrence.
• This life-and-death situation unveiled the silver linings in the clouds of an otherwise unhealthy habit.

Alright sugar, let’s top this off…

Well butter my biscuits and call me a Whopper! Ain’t it just like fate to use a greasy burger as a shield from tragedy? Our UNLV cowboy wasn’t on campus for the dreadful incident. Instead, he was hunkering down on Burger King’s “crème de la crème”, a Whopper, with his comrades. Now I can’t say a daily visit to the King’s court would guarantee safety, but if there’s one thing this dire episode teaches us, it’s to always cherish your traditions, no matter how trivial – or cholesterol-laden – they seem. Today, it was a Whopper Wednesday, tomorrow who knows, a Taco Tuesday might just save the day. Stay safe y’all, and maybe consider mixing in a salad… although I doubt a Salad Saturday sounds quite as fun. So here’s to greasy burgers, hon!
