Chiefs Fans Not Too Swift On Taylor’s Tune

During every Kansas City Chiefs game, Taylor Swift’s song, “You Need to Calm Down” is played, prompting perplexed expressions amongst hardcore fans.

Taylor’s catchy pop tune ain’t exactly received as heartily as a full-bodied country ballad or a rockin’ football anthem to pump up the crowd.

Regardless of the fans’ sentiments, the Chiefs organization is sticking with playing Swift’s music, since the 31-year-old singer is a big fan of the team.

The reaction on Twitter has been quite a hootenanny, with fans expressing their dismay over the choice, tweeting their “Taylor tales” with a good dose of humor.

Nobody’s denying Taylor’s talent, but country-loving Chiefs fans are questioning this choice, longing for some good ol’ country or rock anthems to heat up the gridiron spirit.

Oh, honey, Taylor Swift’s tune don’t set with the rough and rugged Chiefs football fans like biscuits and gravy. It’s like serving grits without butter, or football without country; something’s just ain’t right. Now, bless their hearts for trying to rush the field with a pop number, but this ain’t halftime at the Super Bowl. It’s ‘bout grit, dirt and hard-earned sweat, not glitter and sequin. And tweeters, y’all are proving to have more laughs than a family reunion at Aunt Mildred’s. I reckon, as long as the Chiefs keep their game as strong as a bull, we might just let this slide, but sure as the sun sets in the west, that pop tune sure does stand out like a rooster in a henhouse at a good ol country football showdown.
