Keith Urban’s Debut Album Hits Platinum Status After 22 Years

22 Year Journey to Platinum Success

An Unexpected Sparkle for a Gem from 1999

Well, butter my biscuits! Imagine my surprise when I found out that Keith Urban’s debut album just got certified platinum, 22 years after he first released it! Now that’s what I call a country-style slow burn, y’all!

When Urban first released this album in 1999, he was just a doe-eyed Aussie trying to make it big in the country music world. Little did we know he’d become the guitar-slinging, Nicole Kidman-marrying superstar he is today! You remember those chart-toppers “But for the Grace of God” and “Your Everything”, don’t ya? Yeeeeep, they were from this self-titled album. That’s what I call a blast from the past!

Now, if you don’t know what all this platinum talk is about, allow me to enlighten ya! Platinum means the album has sold over a million units – that’s a pretty penny, I tell ya! Just like that little ol’ tortoise from that fable, Urban proves that slow and steady can certainly win the race.

All this news comes just in time, as our boy Keith is set to drop another album, “The Speed of Now Part 1,” on September 18th. Now ain’t that a treat? So folks, let’s dust off the ol’ cowboy hat, raise a glass (or mug of sweet tea), and give a country-sized congratulations to Mr. Urban. After all, good things come to those who wait… or in this case, those who wait 22 years!
